WHAT IS YOUR TITLE

In Ephesians 4:11-16, it is written: “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

Over the last few months, I have sadly witnessed a “jockeying” for position in the Body of Christ in many places. As I sat on the “back row” watching this, my heart grieved for the heart of God. Why? Because that isn’t the heart of God. Jockeying for position is the opposite to “reach unity”. It makes non-believers and even baby believers discouraged. Yes, they are watching those in position. Always have. Always will. How is that mature? How will that help the Body of Christ attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ?!!

This is not belittling the mantles/titles/calls of God on anyone’s life. This is more about what are we doing with them?

Jesus was an Apostle/Pastor/Teacher/Prophet/Evangelist and He still got on his knees and washed His Disciples feet. After all, didn’t Jesus say in the Word of God in Mark 10:45: “FOR EVEN THE SON OF MAN DID NOT COME TO BE SERVED, BUT TO SERVE, and to give His life as a ransom for many”?

Jesus led by the greatest example and it is still OUR example. It doesn’t matter what Title you have, you are called to serve and “become the least so you can become the greatest.”

Matthew 23:12 says, “FOR THOSE WHO EXALT THEMSELVES WILL BE HUMBLED, AND THOSE WHO HUMBLE THEMSELVES WILL BE EXALTED.”

So-when was the last time you were humbled enough to “sit on the back row” or wash someone’s feet.? Your title does not make you exempt So, what is your title? I hope it’s “those who humble themselves will be exalted” because it’s not about you! It’s about Him~#hearinggodministries #lindawright #whatisyourtitle
